Kick Off Meeting: IPB Overseas Campus towards Global Education

In order to address the growth of IPB campuses overseas, Prof. Deni Noviana, Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs at IPB University, convened vice rectors, deans, directors, heads of units, past education attachés, and members of the IPB academic community. IPB University aims to attain Global Engagement in 2026 in line with IPB milestones 2024–2028. To that end, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, the Kick Off Meeting for IPB Campus Abroad towards Global Education was held.

IPB’s global education is demonstrated by the creation of international study abroad programs, campuses, and classes. The work theme 2026 carries three primary points: International mobility is based on three key components: worldwide involvement (global student and alumni network, global joint research, and global industry engagement).

IPB University’s journey features elements that make it appealing and propel the flow of global mobility forward. Learning programs, an engaging educational experience, a vibrant and healthy student lifestyle, and hassle-free services for international students are a few things that draw in foreign students. In addition, the tagline “IPB Students Going Global” (mobility of IPB students who exchange abroad) reinforces IPB’s Global Education.

The higher the likelihood that IPB will succeed in achieving global education, the more robust the ecosystem has grown. Smart agriculture, veterinary medicine, marine science and technology, food technology, agricultural industrial engineering, management, agribusiness, resource and environmental economics, Islamic economics, and business are among the subjects that IPB will begin offering international classes in 2024.

There are a number of possible markets for the idea to establish an IPB campus abroad, including China, Malaysia, the Middle East, Africa, and Timor Leste. Due to the need for 1,000 veterinarians from the nation, IPB decided to begin building campuses abroad in one of them, the neighboring nation of Malaysia.

The Kick Off event held on Tuesday, 09/01/2024 gained new insights from the vice rectors, deans, directors, heads of units, former education attachés, and IPB academic community regarding the overseas campus plan. The basic capital or strength of IPB to build a campus abroad is one of IPB’s knowledge, human resources, capital/materials, and networking strength. The next step, IPB will help Focus Group Discussion related to technical issues of overseas campus development. With this kick off agenda, it is hoped that IPB University will be closer to going global and existing in the international arena.
