IPB University delegation attended the 2nd Meeting of Republic of Indonesia-Singapore (RI-SING) University Network.

As a follow-up to the first RI-Singapore University Network (RI-SING UN) meeting which was held online on November 24, 2022, and to accelerate the cooperation plan between 5 (five) Indonesian universities (IPB University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Gadjah Mada University, and University of Indonesia), with 6 (six) universities in Singapore (National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore University of Technology Design, and Singapore Institute Technology), the IPB University Delegation attended the 2nd RI-SING UN Meeting on June 13-14, 2023 at the Mercure Nusa Dua Hotel, Bali.

The first day of the activity began with remarks from the Rector of Mahasaraswati University, Dr. Drs. I Made Sukamerta, as the host of the 2nd Meeting RI-SING UN. Followed by remarks from the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology RI, Prof. Ir. Nizam and Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Education Singapore, Ms. Melissa Khoo. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Iskandar Z. Siregar as Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Cooperation and Alumni presented the proposed cooperation between IPB University and each Singapore university.

The agenda continued with matchmaking meeting activities between the delegations of the five Indonesian universities and universities in Singapore. Also present as IPB University delegates were; 1) Head of Leadership and Executive Education Institute, Prof. Dr. Arief Darjanto, 2) Deputy Head of Talent Development, Dr. Ir. Idqan Fahmi, 3) Director of Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Sugeng Heri Suseno, 4) Director of Global Connectivity, Dr.rer.agr. Eva Anggraini, and 5) Assistant Director of Basic and Applied Research, Dr. Eng. Obie Farobie. There were four major themes that became the main discussion at the matchmaking meeting, namely academic cooperation, industry-based study programs, collaborative research, and staff and student mobility.

On the second day, each Indonesian university presented the results of the matchmaking meeting, Dr.rer.agr Eva Anggraini representing IPB conveyed the results of discussions with each participant from the six Singaporean universities. “IPB will follow up the planned cooperation initiation with university partners from Singapore, and will also strengthen the implementation of ongoing cooperation”.
