Visit of City University of Hong Kong to IPB University: Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Mathematics and Natural Science

A delegation from City University of Hong Kong has visited IPB University with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the field of mathematics and science. The delegation of City University of Hong Kong was led by Prof. Alex Wong, as Associate Dean (Outreach and Internationalisation), College of Science of City University of Hong Kong. In addition, the delegation from City University of Hong Kong consisted of Prof. Denver Li (Associate Dean (Research and Postgraduate Education), College of Science), Prof. Xiaosheng Zhuang (Undergraduate Outreach Coordinator, College of Science), Prof. Robert Li (Associate Dean, School of Graduate Studies), Prof. Ren Yang (Head of Department of Physics), Prof. Jinfeng Xu (Programme Leader of PhD in Biostatistics, MSc Biostatistics, Department of Biostatistics), and several staff. The cooperation discussion took place in the Rector 1 Conference Room, Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Bogor, on May 22, 2024.

In the meeting, Prof. drh. Deni Noviana, PhD, DAiCVIM, as Vice Rector for Education and Student Affair, Dr. Berry Juliandi, as Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ir. Titi Candra Sunarti, MSi, as Vice Dean for Resources, Collaboration and Development, Graduate School, Ir. Endar Hasafah Nugrahani, M.S., as Head of Department of Mathematics, Dr. Dimas Andrianto, S.Si, M.Si. from the Department of Biochemistry, Drh. Dordia Rotinsulu, M.Sc. Dordia Rotinsulu, M.Si as Assistant Director of International Program Services, and Alfiasari, M.Si, as Assistant Director of International Education. Dr. Berry Juliandi and Prof. Alex Wong said that IPB University and CityUHK could work together in the field of education, especially in the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences study program. IPB University and CityUHK initiated to carry out joint workshops, match making, internship or exchange programs.

CityUHK also held info session activities for students, especially students of the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences. The info session was held to explain the scholarship programs that can be taken to study at CityUHK, especially in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences. The event was attended by students who were interested in scholarships to study abroad. At the end of the event, an interview session was conducted by CityUHK for students who were enthusiastic about applying for the scholarship program from CityUHK.
