Improving the Acceptability of Functional Candy Based on A Scientific Approach.

Prof. C. Hanny Wijaya attended -the 15th ISNFF International Conference and Exhibition on Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods in Honolulu on December 10-13th, 2023, to fulfill the invitation as an international advisor board of the International Society of Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods (ISNFF) organization. Besides attending the annual ISNFF meeting as an ISNFF Board member at large for the 2022-2024 term, she also delivered an oral presentation entitled: “Improving the Acceptability of Functional Candy Based on A Scientific Approach.” This conference has been involving more than 300 participants representing the five continents.  A reputable world conference in the field of nutraceuticals and functional foods that conveys scientific progress and new findings both in research and product development. There were also exhibition booths showing nutraceuticals and functional foods, particularly the new commercial products produced by industries.

Reflecting on her experience, Prof. Hanny Wijaya shared: “Participating in such a prestigious scientific event, attended by academics, students, researchers, policymakers, bureaucrats, and industry practitioners, offers a unique opportunity to build mutual networks and initiate real collaborations with international stakeholders. This, in turn, can significantly contribute to the ‘Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka’ program. The knowledge gained from the scientific sessions can enrich the modules with recent advanced research results, enhancing our teaching capability”. Prof. C. Hanny Wijaya was honored with the Merits Award from the ISNFF in 202i.

As a board member of a global organization consisting of scientists from 36 countries, Prof. Hanny is expected to be able to bring Indonesia to take more part in the international arena.
