GLOBE Talent Pool, IPB University Collaboration with Schoters by Ruangguru to Prepare Mentors and Students Ready to Study Abroad
Bogor, July 22, 2024 – IPB University has started the GLOBE Talent Pool mentoring activity in collaboration with Schoters by Ruangguru. Through the coordination of the Directorate of International Education, the program runs from Monday, 22 July 2024 to Monday, 7 October 2024, and is attended by 37 students from various faculties and departments at IPB. When opened by Ibu Puji Mudiana as the Director of International Education of IPB, this activity aims to prepare students in achieving international education opportunities through two main programs namely Study Abroad Academy (SAA) session and IELTS Preparation.
Opening of GLOBE Talent Pool program
In the Study Abroad Academy (SAA) session, students are given in-depth guidance on various important aspects of the study abroad application process. This guidance includes questions and answers about study abroad, discussion of interests and study goals, scholarship program registration, goals and timeline, and finding a supervising professor. Participants were also provided with information on a list of countries and destination campuses, as well as guidance on applying for scholarships and destination campuses.

Not only that, the SAA program also provides services for preparing scholarship requirement documents such as essays and academic CVs. Participants are required to fill in the form and upload their documents according to the predetermined guidelines. Each document will go through a review process, and participants will receive notes for revisions to be made.
In addition to SAA, the mentoring program also includes IELTS preparation sessions. Students receive intensive training consisting of online face-to-face sessions and test simulations. The program includes 31 hours of mandatory training and 4 hours of test simulations, which are conducted on Monday and Wednesday of each week. Participants will take two simulated tests, the Pre-test and the Final Test, to measure their progress.
In the IELTS preparation session, participants will learn about the four main skills tested in the test, namely Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Schoters by Ruangguru provides asynchronous materials and quizzes that can be accessed by participants at any time. In addition, participants also get the opportunity to practice directly with tutors.
