IPB Inbound Student Orientation Odd Semester 2024/2025: A Warm Welcome and Educational Adventure at IPB Campus
The Directorate of International Education, IPB University once again held orientation activities for Inbound students in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The two-day event, which took place on August 9 and 10, 2024, was attended by students from various international universities who participated in the 2024/2025 odd semester Inbound program, such as Gyeongsang National University (GNU), Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Hiroshima University, Ibaraki University, SupBiotech University, Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle, Insa Toulouse, Tokyo University of Agriculture (Nodai), University of Tsukuba, Yamaguchi University, Central Luzon State University, Mara Technological University, and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. This activity aims to welcome and introduce foreign students to the academic and cultural life at IPB University.

The first day of orientation began with an official welcome from the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. drh. Deni Noviana, PhD, DAiCVIM. In her speech, Prof. Deni emphasized the importance of international collaboration in improving the quality of education and expressed her hope that the Inbound students can make the most of this opportunity. The event continued with an introduction session between Inbound students and Staff at DPI IPB, which aims to build familiarity and facilitate the adaptation of new students in the campus environment.
In addition to introductions, the first day of orientation was also filled with explanatory activities related to study at IPB, explanations of life experiences on campus, tips and tricks for living academic and social life at IPB and at the end related to the registration process of the courses they would take during one semester at IPB. After the classroom session, the Inbound students were invited to tour the Campus of IPB Dramaga, to visit some iconic buildings such as the Faculty of Economics and Management, Andi Hakim Nasution Building, and Taman Koin IPB. The campus tour ended with a visit to the IPB Campus Museum, where students could learn more about the history and achievements of IPB as one of the leading universities in Indonesia.
On the second day, the Inbound students continued their visit to IPB’s Business School and Vocational School in Cilibende, Jl. Padjajaran, Bogor and concluded with a visit to the Bogor Botanical Gardens, where all participants took part in outbound activities designed to strengthen cooperation and intimacy between participants. They were also invited to explore various iconic locations in Bogor Botanical Gardens, including Griya Taman Anggrek, which features a wide collection of rare and captivating orchids.

This orientation activity was closed with lunch together in the Bogor Botanical Garden area, accompanied by a group photo session attended by all Inbound students, student buddies, and IPB DPI team. The hope of this activity is to provide an overview of campus life and bring experience while at IPB.
