IPB University Strengthens International Education Through Double/Joint Degree Program

Bogor, 16 August 2024 – In an effort to strengthen its position in the global arena, IPB University makes internationalization of education a strategic foundation to strengthen its presence among the world’s leading universities. Through international collaboration in higher education, IPB University is committed to expanding access to high-quality education for more learners, including through the implementation of Double Degree and Joint Degree programs. The main objective of the Double Degree/Joint Degree grant is to stimulate the growth of these programs at IPB University.
A Double Degree Program involves cooperation between two or more universities that each offer different study programs at the same level, allowing students to earn degrees from multiple institutions and graduate with two degrees. In contrast, a Joint Degree Program is a partnership where two or more universities offer the same program, allowing students to complete their studies at two institutions and obtain one degree.

In the 2023/2024 academic year, IPB University received the DAPT-EQUITY Project from the Ministry of Education and Culture to support its efforts to become a world-class institution, as well as maintain IPB’s position as a leading university in the field of biosciences and agromaritime in Southeast Asia. Achieving the 5% international student target is an important part of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) 6, which includes collaboration with global partners. The development of Double Degree and Joint Degree programs is a key strategy to achieve this goal while improving the quality of graduates (KPI 1). In addition, Double Degree and Joint Degree programs allow educators at IPB to expand their academic network through close collaboration with partner universities, supporting KPI 3 and KPI 4, which will ultimately improve the overall performance of the institution.
