Bogor, Indonesia – The Directorate of International Education (IED) at IPB University played a pivotal role in the success of Agrisymphony IPB 2024, held on October 26-27, 2024, at Plaza Entrepreneur, the Koin area, and the Telaga Inspirasi field of IPB. As one of the key events of IPB University’s 61st Anniversary (Dies Natalis), Agrisymphony celebrated the theme “The Greatest Wonderfest,” showcasing the vibrant diversity and collaborative spirit of IPB’s student community.
IED IPB stood out with its engaging and informative booth exhibition that featured international students representing countries such as Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, France, Malaysia, Thailand, Timor Leste, and several African nations. These students actively participated in interactive activities, including origami workshops, traditional food tastings, and cultural exhibitions. Their presence captivated visitors, offering a unique opportunity to experience a blend of global cultures and fostering meaningful cross-cultural exchanges.
The IED booth exhibition also highlighted IPB University’s stature as an internationally recognized institution, presenting various international mobility programs. These included student exchanges, summer and winter courses, double and joint degree programs, research and internship opportunities, and global scholarship initiatives such as Erasmus, MEXT, and LPDP. Visitors are informed about travel grants, living cost support, LinkedIn Learning, free passport services, and specialized programs like the SUIJI SLP. The enthusiasm of attendees reflected a growing interest in these offerings, reaffirming DPI’s commitment to equipping students with globally competitive skills and experiences.
A key highlight of the event was the participation of Japanese student Akari, who expressed her delight “I am thrilled to be part of this event and to experience Indonesian culture, such as traditional martial arts and clothing. I am also grateful to DPI for facilitating our performance of the Japanese traditional dance ‘Soran Bushi’ on the main stage, which was an incredible opportunity to share our culture with the IPB community.”
Agrisymphony IPB 2024 served as an excellent platform for DPI IPB to promote its international programs and celebrate cultural diversity. Through its active involvement, DPI strengthened IPB’s reputation as a globally connected university, inspiring students to pursue international opportunities and fostering a deeper appreciation of cultural exchange.
