MADA Delegation Visit to IPB: Collaboration to Enhance Rice Productivity

Bogor, February 10, 2025— Delegation from the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) of Malaysia conducted an official visit to the IPB University to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector, particularly in improving rice productivity.

The MADA delegation, led by Dato’ Dr. Ismail bin Salleh as Chairman of MADA, was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Iskandar Z. Siregar, M.For.Sc, as Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration, and Alumni, along with Prof. Suryo Wiyono and Prof. Iskandar Lubis from the Faculty of Agriculture at IPB. The discussions between both institutions focused on agricultural land management, the development of superior rice varieties, and the implementation of modern agricultural technologies.

During the meeting, Dato’ Dr. Ismail bin Salleh stated that the primary objective of the visit was to learn from Indonesia’s experience in increasing rice production yields. This collaboration is expected to foster innovative solutions to improve crop yields and ensure the sustainability of the agricultural sector in both countries.
