Summer Course – Animal Production and Technology
The Summer Course 2026: New Horizons in Interdisciplinary Tropical Animal Production through Smart Precision Farming for Sustainability, Climate Resilience, and Global Partnership
Program Overview
The Summer Course 2026, titled “New Horizons in Interdisciplinary Tropical Animal Production through Smart Precision Farming for Sustainability, Climate Resilience, and Global Partnership,” builds upon the successful implementation of the DIPTP Summer Course, which has been organized continuously since 2018 and has attracted growing international participation each year. Through collaborations with international scholars and partner institutions, the program has developed into a reputable academic platform for advancing tropical animal science, strengthening research collaboration, and promoting global engagement in sustainable livestock development.
Organized by the Department of Animal Production and Technology, Faculty of Animal Science, IPB University, in collaboration with Universitas Sumatera Utara and Universiti Putra Malaysia, the Summer Course 2026 will be conducted in a hybrid format from 28 July to 11 August 2026.
The program combines a series of academic lectures, field excursions, and the International Student Conference and Innovation Challenge (ISCIC), with a focus on sustainable tropical livestock systems, smart precision farming, climate resilience, and global partnerships. Through interdisciplinary learning, scientific discussions, industry exposure, and community engagement activities, participants will gain valuable insights into contemporary challenges and innovations in tropical animal production.
By fostering knowledge exchange and cross-cultural collaboration, the Summer Course 2026 aims to strengthen international partnerships and contribute to the development of sustainable, innovative, and climate-resilient tropical animal production systems.
