Summer Course – Department of Aquatic Resources Management

Program Overview

The STABLE Summer School 2026 is a joint academic initiative organized by the STABLE cluster partners to strengthen collaboration in education and research related to the Sustainable Blue Economy. The program will be held for approximately 10 days in Indonesia and hosted by IPB University.

Participants will include students from partner institutions within the cluster, namely IPB University, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), ZMT Bremen, Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, and the University of Groningen. In addition, participants from outside the cluster—such as Padjadjaran University, University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT), Musamus University, and the University of Bremen—will also take part. In total, around 35 participants, including assisting lecturers, are expected to join the program.

The summer school aims to provide participants with up-to-date knowledge and perspectives on coastal and ocean risk management, nature-based solutions, and Sustainable Blue Economy practices. It also seeks to strengthen academic collaboration among partner institutions.

The program will combine lectures, interactive discussions, and practical group work, integrating theoretical knowledge with applied learning approaches. Through this experience, students will gain exposure to current research activities within the STABLE network and deepen their understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in relation to coastal and marine resource management.

By bringing together the collective expertise of the cluster partners, the STABLE Summer School 2026 serves as an interdisciplinary platform for knowledge exchange, collaborative learning, and the exploration of practical approaches to sustainable coastal and ocean management within the framework of a Sustainable Blue Economy.
