Summer Course – Department of Marine Science and Technology
THE 6th MARINE TROPICAL ECOLOGY: Connecting Atmospheric Science to Island Ecology for Climate Resilience
Program Overview
The Department of Marine Science and Technology, in collaboration with Wakayama University (Japan) and Sun Yat-sen University (China), proudly presents the 6th Marine Tropical Ecology Summer Course 2026 under the theme
“Connecting Atmospheric Science to Island Ecology for Climate Resilience.”
This international program is designed to explore how atmospheric processes influence tropical island ecosystems and contribute to climate resilience. Through an interdisciplinary approach, participants will gain insights into ocean–atmosphere interactions, climate variability, and their impacts on coastal and island environments.
The program combines lectures, interactive discussions, and practical learning activities to strengthen both theoretical understanding and analytical skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with experts and peers from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, fostering meaningful international collaboration.
By the end of the program, participants are expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the role of atmospheric science in shaping resilient island ecosystems and to contribute innovative ideas toward sustainable environmental management.
