Program Overview
Indonesia is the world’s third-largest coffee producer, following Brazil and Vietnam. Renowned for its diverse flavors and unique characteristics, Indonesian coffee is highly sought after by global consumers. Coffee consumption has become an integral part of Indonesian culture, evolving into a lifestyle. To strengthen Indonesia’s position as a leading coffee producer, the Department of Food Science and Technology (DITP), IPB University, in collaboration with the SEAFAST Center, is committed to advancing coffee research through science and technology.
The 2nd Coffee Summer Course, titled “CoffeeCrack: Unveiling Indonesia’s Bean-to-Cup Journey Through Science and Technology,” continues the success of the 2024 program, “CoffeeCraft.” This rebranded edition emphasizes the role of food science and technology in the coffee industry. The program aligns with IPB University’s mission of internationalization and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The CoffeeCrack Summer Course 2025 will take place from July 28 to August 5, 2025, at DITP, SEAFAST Center, and coffee processing sites in Bogor. The program offers a comprehensive learning experience, combining lectures, hands-on coffee processing activities, and cultural exchanges with coffee artisans and industry experts. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of Indonesian coffee, from cultivation to cup, guided by leading researchers and professionals. By integrating education, research, and industry collaboration, CoffeeCrack 2025 serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and international networking in the global coffee industry.
