Summer Course – Faculty of Forestry and Environment
The 7th International Global South Summer Course on Forestry and Environment: “Beyond the Tree Line: Balancing Reforestation and Land Use in Mountain Ecosystem”
Program Overview
The Faculty of Forestry and Environment, IPB University proudly presents The 7th International Global South Summer Course 2026, an intensive hybrid academic program that brings together participants from across the Global South to explore pressing environmental challenges, reforestation initiatives, and sustainable land use practices in mountain ecosystems.
This year’s theme, “Beyond the Tree Line: Balancing Reforestation and Land Use in Mountain Ecosystem”, highlights the importance of achieving harmony between ecological restoration and human activities in fragile highland environments. The program encourages discussions on climate resilience, biodiversity protection, sustainable land management, and community-based environmental development.
Through interactive lectures, collaborative discussions, field experiences, and cross-cultural engagement, participants will gain valuable insights into environmental governance, mountain ecosystem management, and innovative reforestation strategies from both academic and practical perspectives.
The summer course also serves as a platform for strengthening international collaboration among students, researchers, academics, and practitioners from the Global South while fostering knowledge exchange and sustainable environmental solutions.
