The 5th Summer Course on Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation in Belitung: Primates, Wild Animals, and Ecotourism
Program Overview
The Summer Course is jointly organized by the Primate Research Center (PRC) and the Primatology Graduate School of IPB University in collaboration with the University of Washington and the University of Copenhagen. This international program is designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in primatology, wildlife conservation, and biodiversity research.
The program offers an interdisciplinary learning platform that integrates scientific lectures, field-based activities, laboratory sessions, and discussions with leading researchers and conservation practitioners. Participants will explore various topics, including primate behavior and ecology, conservation biology, habitat management, wildlife health, research methodologies, and the role of primates in ecosystem sustainability.
Through collaboration with internationally recognized institutions, the Summer Course promotes academic exchange, cross-cultural learning, and global perspectives on conservation challenges. Participants will have opportunities to engage in collaborative research discussions, develop professional networks, and gain insights into current issues and innovations in primate conservation and environmental stewardship.
By combining academic excellence with hands-on learning experiences, the program aims to strengthen participants’ scientific competencies and foster future leaders committed to biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental management at both regional and global levels.
