IPB International Students Join National Education Day Ceremony, Wearing Indonesian Traditional Clothes
Bogor, May 2, 2025 – The atmosphere of national spirit and cultural diversity was felt at Telaga Inspirasi Field, IPB University, when more than 25 international students from various countries participated in the Flag Ceremony commemorating National Education Day. This activity was part of the “Indonesia National Education Day Celebration” event.
Students from Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya, Tanzania, South Korea, Japan, and other countries seemed enthusiastic to follow the whole series of ceremonies, starting from raising the Red and White flag, singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya, to reading the official speech from the Minister of Education.

What made this ceremony even more special was that the international students appeared wearing Indonesian traditional clothes, such as kebaya, batik, and traditional clothes from various regions. Their presence was a tangible symbol of cultural integration and respect for Indonesian educational values and nationalism.
For most of them, this was their first time participating in a flag ceremony in Indonesia, an activity that has become routine and meaningful in the world of national education. Many of them expressed their amazement and emotion at this experience.

One of the students from Kenya said, “I feel very honored to be able to join this ceremony with Indonesian students. Wearing traditional clothes and standing to sing the national anthem together makes me feel part of a big community of IPB and Indonesia.”

This activity is a tangible manifestation of IPB University’s commitment in building a spirit of multiculturalism and tolerance through international education. In addition to introducing Indonesian academic traditions to foreign students, this moment also strengthens the relationship between students from various countries who are members of the IPB global community. The Directorate of International Education of IPB hopes that activities like this can become a routine agenda that enriches international experience in the campus environment, while introducing the noble values of Indonesian education to the world.
