Program History:
We have implemented the DD Master (S2) program of IPB University – Kyoto University since 2012.

 

Entry Requirements


Academic Requirement:
•  Bachelor’s degree (completed undergraduate education)
•  Official transcript of undergraduate studies
•  Enrollment at IPB in February/August 2025 (must register during Semester 1)
•  Age under 35 years
•  Physically and mentally healthy
•  Must not be enrolled in any other Double Degree (DD) program

Accepted Majors
Relevant to the designated lab

Language Proficiency Requirements:
•  TOEFL ITP score ≥500 / IELTS score ≥6 (eligibility based on English proficiency test scores)

Matriculation Requirements
No matriculation

Minimum GPA
GPA >3.00 out of 4.0

•  Application form (Biodata, Background, Research Plan)

•  Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript
•  Master’s degree transcript (if available)
•  Recommendation Letter
•  Approval letter from the supervising committee or program head
•  English proficiency certificate
•  Student ID card (KTM)

Application Process


Application Period:

One primary application period per year.

• September – October 2025: Application forms become available online.
• September 2026: Departure to Kyoto University.

 

Tuition & Scholarships


Tuition Fee

IPB University
• Tuition Fee (UKT*): 9,000,000 IDR per semester
• International Study Tuition: During the study period abroad, 10% of the tuition fee is still payable to IPB University.
• Application Fee: 750,000 IDR per student

Kyoto University
• Tuition fee: waived

 

Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship opportunities from Kyoto University, the Japanese government, or the JASSO are available for 1-2 students.
