The International Primatological Society (IPS) Congress is a scientific meeting held by the International Primatological Society, which is a scientific organization dedicated to the research, protection, and understanding of primates. The aim of the congress is to facilitate the exchange of the latest knowledge in primate research, discuss conservation issues, and promote awareness of the importance of conserving primates and their natural habitats. The activity was held from August 19-25, 2023, at the Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK), Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. The scientific presentation delivered by drh Huda Shalahudin Darusman, MSi, PhD on August 23, 2023 in the IPS special session on primate animals of long-tailed monkeys and macaques. The event was titled: Captive breeding and research with long-tailed macaques at Primate Center of IPB, Indonesia. The follow-up that has been realized is that the 1st Abbreviated Primate Behavioral Management Conference (PBMC) in Indonesia was held on 28-29 August 2023 at The Sahira Hotel, Jl A. Yani No. 17-23, Bogor Indonesia. A total of 11 experts contributed as resource persons at the PBMC event. The PBMC activity itself is a primate animal behavior training activity that has been running and organized by the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. The Abbreviated PBMC activity that was held was the first primate behavior training activity in Indonesia with the PBMC franchise above.
