IPB University is Awarded as “Highly Commended” at THE Awards Asia 2025

Bogor, April 23, 2025 — The results of the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2025 are in. This year, IPB University’s One Village One CEO program has earned a high commendation in the category for “Oustanding Contribution to Regional Development.”

THE Awards Asia is known as the “Oscars of Higher Education” in the Asian region, and is a prestigious platform that appreciates the best educational institutions in Asia in various strategic categories. 

The “Oustanding Contribution to Regional Development” category highlights the active role of higher education institutions in providing a positive impact on economic, social, and environmental development in the regions where they are located. IPB University is considered to have successfully demonstrated a high commitment to supporting regional progress, especially through an approach based on agriculture, sustainability, and local innovation.

IPB University’s One Village One CEO has had a significant impact on village empowerment and the transformation of Indonesian agriculture. OVOC aims to increase the capacity and role of local leaders (village CEOs) in developing the economic potential of villages, as well as encouraging synergy between the government, private sector, universities, and village communities.

This recognition is concrete evidence of IPB University’s contribution to regional development, through various research programs, innovation, community service, and empowerment based on science and technology.
