A group of faculty members from IPB University recently participated in the Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility program at L’Institut Agro Montpellier, aimed at strengthening capacity building and fostering institutional collaboration.

IPB University and L’Institut Agro Montpellier have maintained a long-standing partnership, having previously implemented several student and staff exchange programs. Both institutions are now looking to expand their collaboration further by developing impactful initiatives, including a Double Degree program for doctoral students and joint research projects.

During the five-day mobility program held from July 23 to 27, participants engaged in idea exchanges and collaborative discussions with various departments at L’Institut Agro. Key topics of cooperation include food technology, agriculture production, bioeconomy, and agroecology.

The visit was graciously facilitated by Ms. Cecile Durand, the International projects manager and Ms. Alice Francois, Head of the team International Academic Partnerships at L’Institut Agro. During the visit, IPB University also had the opportunity to engage in discussions with CIRAD and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), both of which are associate members of SALSA – a platform for partnership in promoting sustainable agricultural landscapes in Southeast Asia.

IPB University greatly values the Erasmus+ KA171 program for not only supporting the capacity development of faculty and students but also for facilitating meaningful institutional partnerships. Through such programs, both universities aim to build sustainable collaborations that offer long-term and broader benefits.
