IPB University Rises to 82nd Place in Asia According to QS World University Rankings
IPB University has reached a remarkable milestone, rising to the 82nd position in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2026, an improvement from its previous rank of 92. This improvement reflects the university’s continuous progress in academic reputation, research excellence, and international competitiveness.
In the QS WUR Asia University Rankings 2026, IPB University earned a total score of 71.9. The university recorded its highest performance in several key indicators, including Faculty-Student Ratio (98.6), International Faculty (94.2), Employer Reputation (92.8), Academic Reputation (82.9), and Staff with PhD (80.2).
Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria, expressed his gratitude for the achievement, stating, “We are grateful for this recognition. It is proof that IPB University continues to gain recognition across Asia and the world. This milestone serves as a motivation for us to keep improving our quality and impact.”
In recent years, IPB University has shown a steady upward trend. In the QS World University Rankings 2026, the university achieved a global rank of 399th, rising from 426th in the previous year. Earlier this year, in the QS WUR by Subject Agriculture and Forestry 2025, IPB University also maintained its #1 position in Southeast Asia, #10 in Asia, and #49 in the world for the field of Agriculture and Forestry.
According to Prof. Iskandar Z. Siregar, Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs, this progress reflects more than just numbers—it showcases a strengthening academic and scientific ecosystem at IPB University.
“The rise in ranking enhances IPB University’s appeal as a top choice for higher education in Asia. It also opens new opportunities for international collaboration and strengthens industry partners’ trust in the quality of our graduates,” he said.
He further emphasized that this achievement highlights the capacity of Indonesian universities, particularly IPB University, to compete regionally and strengthen Indonesia’s position on the Asian higher education map.
“Looking ahead, IPB University remains committed to further advancing its global standing through sustainable strategies—by strengthening its research ecosystem, expanding international networks in line with the ‘Global Engagement’ vision of IPB 2026, and fostering innovations that create real impact for society,” he concluded.
